During the course of our lifetimes, we all have a tendency to wear different hats and for different reasons. To date I have been a writer, a logging contractor, an aircraft safety inspector, an air traffic controller, an independent businessman and a pilot. Today, I am honored to help lead a national cause for homeowners and homeowners’ rights. Today, my hat is as the National Director for Protect Americas Dream and the National Homeowners College.
We hear from people from all over the United States who are in foreclosure. By far the single biggest challenge the homeowner faces is themselves. With little guidance, homeowners consistently wait until their situation becomes a crisis without ever having learned the true nature of their problem. This is when panic sets in, and poor decisions are made. With limited resources, many homeowners invest in the wrong information while believing in fancy reports, exotic procedures and professional titles. And much of what the homeowner acquires cannot be used as evidence in court of law.
Because of this, the majority of homeowners are left defending actions brought on by the foreclosure process and rarely have the opportunity to take control of their situation. Therefore, the homeowner is constantly in a defensive posture (read…offense vs. defense) and eventually gets cornered. The result for many is the loss of their home and financial ruin.
Stop paying for things you know nothing about. Never assume that you are dealing with an expert and learn all you can about your own situation before you do anything else…NHC will help you become educated.
What is working for a large numbers of homeowners will never be revealed publicly. The legal system often won’t allow decisions favorable to the homeowner to be published. Unpublished opinions often have no binding authority and cannot be cited in any case. Settlements with gag orders are generally favorable to the homeowner and this is what most homeowners want to achieve.
From this point forward decisions made by any homeowner will determine whether or not there is a favorable outcome and there is little room for error. Those who are willing to engage stand a greater chance of success when so many others are failing. This is what Protect Americas Dream and the National Homeowners College is all about…helping homeowners learn the best steps to succeed where others have failed! We believe knowledge is power.
